LV Cake Sculpture at the V & A Museum
As always, terribly inadequate images, but finally here's a post on the V&A cake.
The occasion was Royal Wedding Weekend and this was exhibited throughout the Big Day and then eaten. I took design influences from Victoria & Albert's wedding cake, as their's was the original tiered cake and the first to use Royal Icing (so named for that reason). To highlight the commercialisation of the modern Royal family I made the cake gold coated and jewel encrusted like a big gaudy souvenir.
The cake was a rich spiced chocolate, with pear mousse buttercream and bucks fizz curd. The jewels and stained glass were hard candy.

LV Flagship Bakery set to open June 5th
Were opening our first outlet next Sunday morning on Ezra St E2 - find us just off Columbia Rd by the Royal Oak pub.
expect beautiful handmade pastries, cakes, pies, tarts, marshmallow, meringue, all kinds of cookies and our award winning brownies. Plus a friendly atmosphere, open kitchen so you can see us all at work and incredible coffee from up and coming roastery Coleman Coffee.
the website is relaunching next week too and will have details of opening times, bakery menu, secret supper clubs, private hire and of course the LAUNCH PARTY. Coming soon...watch this space!
